AND it came to pass that he commanded them that theyshould write the words which the Father had given untoMalachi, which he should tell unto them. And it came topass that after they were written he expounded them. For he is like a refiner’s fire, and likefuller’s soap. 3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver;and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold andsilver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering inrighteousness. 4 Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalembe pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in formeryears. 5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will bea swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers,and against false swearers, and against those that oppress thehireling in his wages, the widow and the fatherless, and that turnaside the stranger, and fear not me,saith the Lord of Hosts.6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob arenot consumed. 7 Even from the days of your fathers ye are goneaway from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Returnunto me and I will return unto you,saith the Lord of Hosts.But ye say:Wherein shall we return?People8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say:The FatherWherein have we robbed thee?PeopleIn tithes and offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse, for ye haverobbed me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring ye all the tithesinto the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house; andprove me now herewith,The Father saith the Lord of Hosts,The FatherSee Mal. 3:1-18Land of BountifulA.D. 34if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you outa blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 11And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall notdestroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine casther fruit before the time in the fields,saith the Lord of Hosts.12 And all nations shall call you blessed, for ye shall be adelightsome land,saith the Lord of Hosts.13 Your words have been stout against me,saith the Lord.Yet ye say:What have we spoken against thee?People14 Ye have said:The FatherIt is vain to serve God, and what doth it profit that we havekept his ordinances and that we have walked mournfullybefore the Lord of Hosts? 15 And now we call the proudhappy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, theythat tempt God are even delivered.People16 Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another,and the Lord hearkened and heard; and a book of remembrancewas written before him for them that feared the Lord, and thatthought upon his name. 17 And they shall be mine,The Fathersaith the Lord of Hosts,in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them asa man spareth his own son that serveth him. 18 Then shall yereturn and discern between the righteous and the wicked,between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.1 FOR behold, the day cometh that shall burn as an oven; and allthe proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble; andthe day that cometh shall burn them up,See Mal. 4:1-6saith the Lord of Hosts,that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But unto youthat fear my name, shall the Son of Righteousness arise withhealing in his wings; and ye shall go forth and grow up ascalves in the stall. 3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; forthey shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that Ishall do this,saith the Lord of Hosts. 4 Remember ye the law of Moses, my servant, which Icommanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutesand judgments. 5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophetbefore the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord; 6And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and theheart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite theearth with a curse.The FatherSee Mal. 4:1-6Land of BountifulA.D. 341 AND now it came to pass that when Jesus had told thesethings he expounded them unto the multitude; and he didexpound all things unto them, both great and small. 2 Andhe saith:MormonThese scriptures, which ye had not with you, the Fathercommanded that I should give unto you; for it was wisdom in himthat they should be given unto future generations.Jesus Christ3 And he did expound all things, even from the beginninguntil the time that he should come in his glory—yea, evenall things which should come upon the face of the earth,even until the elements should melt with fervent heat, andthe earth should be wrapt together as a scroll, and theheavens and the earth should pass away; 4 And even untothe great and last day, when all people, and all kindreds, andall nations and tongues shall stand before God, to be judgedof their works, whether they be good or whether they beevil— 5 If they be good, to the resurrection of everlastinglife; and if they be evil, to the resurrection of damnation;being on a parallel, the one on the one hand and the otheron the other hand, according to the mercy, and the justice,and the holiness which is in Christ, who was before theworld began.Mormon
